Overview
Kenneth O’Donohue is a seasoned attorney licensed to practice law in New Jersey, with his practice focused around complex litigation. He has extensive experience representing clients in construction defect cases involving single-family residences, condominium communities, and commercial properties. His work often involves multifaceted disputes concerning building code violations, negligence, breach of warranty, contract issues, and consumer fraud claims.
Mr. O’Donohue has represented developers, contractors, and design professionals in both state and federal courts. In addition to his construction litigation practice, he has successfully handled premises liability and complex business contract matters. He has argued numerous motions before New Jersey trial courts, has experience in alternative dispute resolution, regularly attends mediations, and has successfully handled appeals before the New Jersey Appellate Division. Notably, he co-authored the appeal in Youssef v. Shri Ram Donuts, LLC, 247 N.J. 234 (2021), where the New Jersey Supreme Court extended the state’s “storm in progress” doctrine to lessees and snow removal contractors in a case of first impression.
Before joining Goetz Schenker Blee & Widerhorn, Mr. O’Donohue was a partner at a defense firm where he focused on construction defect, premises liability, mold and toxic torts, auto negligence, and professional liability defense. He began his legal career as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Christine Farrington in Essex County, which provided him with invaluable insight into the judicial process.
Mr. O’Donohue’s approach to legal practice is informed not only by his expansive legal experience, but also by his practical background in the construction industry. Having worked for an electrical contracting company before entering practicing law, Mr. O’Donohue possesses a firsthand understanding of the challenges his clients face in construction-related matters. This practical insight has proven invaluable in representing his clients, as he is able to approach each matter with a technical understanding of industry standards and practices.
Outside the courtroom, Mr. O’Donohue is an avid musician who enjoys spending time with his wife and three daughters. He also stays active, playing football, hockey, softball, and golfing.
