Overview

Jennifer Chavez brings with her to the firm over 20 years of experience representing small businesses, national retail chains, landlords and private individuals in a wide variety of complex matters, including premises, property and contract disputes.

Prior to joining Goetz, Schenker Blee & Wiederhorn, Jennifer was a partner at an insurance defense law firm, where she focused on defending high exposure negligence, labor law, property damage, wrongful death and personal injury claims. Prior to that, she was a partner at a Manhattan law firm, gaining extensive experience defending product liability and general litigation matters in New York’s state, federal and appellate courts.

Jennifer’s areas of practice include insurance defense, premises liability, labor law, amusement park accidents, retail law, products liability, property damage, and construction accidents.

Jennifer’s exceptional oral advocacy, organizational and writing skills and her ability to formulate smart, defensive strategies have made her a formidable adversary and a respected advocate on behalf of her clients and within the legal community.

Jennifer received her B.A. from the University of Maryland at College Park and her J.D. from Fordham University School of Law, where she was a member of the International Law Journal. She is admitted to practice in the Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of New York as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Jennifer is a member of the Long Island Hispanic Bar Association and is fluent in Spanish.
